So much cuteness
Anyone wanna buy babygirl a present? This is all gorgeous. And no pink in sight! Love it.
Happy Birthday, AB! The proud mama of Jessa, soon to be a proud mama of a mini-saddle, and all around dear friend… what a fun year you have in store! I can’t wait to get back and celebrate in person!
(unrelated — few greetings are as awesome as the ones I receive from Jessa. She’s the best)
Thanks, dear KK!!! Love you and love this picture of Jess! Look what a pup she was! Awww.
xoxo
I’ve been away in NY for Rosh Hashanah, so I’ve been a busy bee and not in posting mode. I’ve much to share!
First being, JONNY PASSED THE BAR, BITCHEZ!!!! Aw yeah. He found out very very early Saturday morning and we were all just totally elated! I’m so proud of my little Esquire! And now, of course I’m living the (Jewish mother’s) dream! Maaaaarried to a laaaaaawyah [said in heavy New York accent]!
Things are on a roll right now…this is just the beginning. Feels pretty good!

Sparkle Neely, can you please be my Rachel Zoe? I can pay you in BFFness.
Also, why is it that the things I love most are the most damn expensive!? WHAT IS WITH ME?
I have spent virtually all day in the kitchen. In a continued effort to eat better and save money by cooking more, I prepared a bunch of little things that will make it easier to throw together lunches and dinners. Chopped tomatoes, zucchini and squash…made dressings and sauces…marinated and cooked some chicken…made pesto…and all of this with all dishes done and a clean kitchen.
I’m pretty proud of myself. I have to say.
So I had a surgery follow up appointment this morning and I’m now free to do what I want (any old time). Work out for real, lift things like weights, children, dogs, Jonny (what?), eat whatever I want…everything. I’m healing nicely and am ready to move on with my life.
Everyone seems to be noting how much better I look…the number one comment…even from people who don’t realize it…is that my eyes are brighter. I guess sickness really does mess with every part of you. I had no idea I was that affected by the infection in my gall bladder. It’s amazing how the body tells you things. It’s sad, though, that it can take us so long to notice.
In any event…I’ve got a spring in my step and am really excited for all that lies ahead! Onward, I go…
Definitely! And I also chopped up some scallions and those made it just extra extra special!
Oh…and the beans were fine! I guess some recipes call for the beans to be dried and soaked overnight and THEN put in the crock pot? So…I think it was okay that they were in the liquid, cuz they weren’t mushy at all. And, I mean, I strained them before I put them in…so. Well, whatever, it worked! YAY!
